Math fairs are a great way to inspire people about math. We at Family Math involve ourselves in math fairs in several ways: firstly we encourage our members to create math-related booths for math fairs; secondly we seek out math fairs at which we can present our booths; and thirdly we organize our own math fairs, one in the spring and another one in the fall. Our fairs are usually held at Ithaca College. Often Ithaca College students prepare booths for the fair. Booths are also created by teachers, parents, and kids who like math. Past booths have been on topics such as infinity, tessellation, origami, geometry software, and game software. Contact us if you have an idea for a booth you'd like to create.
